Cartoon Jihad
I just seen this on the news and I couldn’t believe it: Arab foreign ministers have condemned the Danish government for failing to act against a newspaper that 
published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. At the Arab League conference in Cairo, they said they were “surprised and discontented at the response”.
How many ovi have I done about god? Am I going to be punished (well I will go to hell anyway but for different reasons)?
By the way what’s next? Minnie mouse with a veil or what? Are they going to attack Disneyland?

In Muslims Culture, the image of prophet Mohamed is not shown..It is sacred..That’s Islam, we arenot gona change this..Every one has his own point of view and the freedon the religion..okay

from everybody has his/hers point of view to make demostrations against a cartoon and burn flags, theaten lives etc. there is a loooooong distance. in the end doesn’t the cartoonist have the right to have an opinion?
In the worst dictatorships the state was against cartoonists and the opoisition used cartoons as a weapon, like in the WWII with Hitler

It is very shameful for a journalist to act so stupidly and it is very against human dignity.

My friend in the name of God, whatever name you want to give to God, have happened some of the worst crimes in history. Even the last Pope admitted that apologizing for the crimes the crusades did even to fellow Christians. Last examples are both Bin Laden who does whatever he does in the name of Allah and George Bush who has often said that God speaks to him.
Another thing and this is something I can accept is that there is a huge difference between religion and church (again whatever name you want to give those two) and the people who represent these churches. Perhaps the cartoonist cannot see the difference but between that and explaining that to him and burning flags and threatens a cartoonist there is a big difference and I hope you can understand it.
From experience I can tell you that most cartoonists, here I do include my self, make often jokes about god mainly have the picture in mind of the people who represent the church.
And one more thing. There is nothing worst than bowdlerize anybody, this is turning us to some of the worst times in our history, the dark ages were only to say that the earth is round was enough to put you in the fire and kill you in the worst way.
Can you understand that in the end humans in the right positions using all these (including you and me) just to promote their agendas and keep people away from the real problems? That there are kids suffering from Palestine to Afghanistan and to Sudan seems to be not the issue anymore but you have both sides threatening each other. I really hope the cartoonist will not lose his job because that will be really unfair.
And last remember what Balzak has said: I might not agree with what you say but I will defend with any cost your right to say it.

The catoonists that are promoting these rediculous cartoons about islam and about the islamic desciples(ie. mohammed) are disgustingly rude and disrespectful. as a muslim, i take very big offence to these cartoons. although some may find it funny, i miss to find the big laugh behind these jokes. the word discontented would be a huge understatement for what i am and would believe many muslims are for danish govermnment not taking act . to the person and people who has(have) drawn this cartoon and other ones, it is for them to see the punishment. the laugh will be then present not now but in the afterlife and god knows, it wont be yours. ALLAH IS ALL KNOWING AND ALLWISE. may peace be upon muhammed.

You can’t ignore that there is MORE than just your written religions… There are people that grew up into a religion because of their location on this planet and have had a hard time with it, and finaly they stopped believing what churches and prophets said like that the earth was plane (not round) and that if they did everything they said GOD would do this do that take their sins, etc…
Instead of convincing everybody WHO is the better, older, cooler GOD, you should recognize God in EVERYTHING.. even in OTHER religions, BELIEFS and so on, because there has been done a lot of BAD things in name of religion and there are a lot of GOOD people, respectfull people WHO do not believe in RELIGIONS.. they believe in themselves and in GOOD, not GOD.

my biggest problem with all of this is the huge double standard that goes on when talking about religion. it doesn’t matter if you are christian, muslim, budist, jewish, or whatever. they all think they are right and any other is wrong. if a muslim says something bad about christianity it’s no big deal, but if a chistian talks bad about the muslim religion it’s nothing but protest, and threats of killing and violence. i never will understand where all the violence in religion comes from when every one of them have the same ending tone, peace be to you, not death be to you if you don’t believe what i do. i believe there is a God, but i also believe He is a God of love and compasion. What kind of all mighty creator would want his followers to burn and distroy all the He created. What kind of god would give greater gifts to a person who blows him/herself up to kill other people. what kind of god rewards suicide, taking the precious life that is a gift to each and every one of us. i can’t see a god that created so many beautiful things in the world being a god like that. it’s not God in the world that causes wars, it’s the devil under cover, calling himself god. God is love, and the different words for believing in a god have made us blind to that.

all of u don’t know any thing about islam and how it is peaceful and full of faith . all of us the muslims respect the other religions because that is one of the habbits that mentiond in our book the holy Quran. we are so sad for the wars that happened in the last while but that is not our problem where is the peace that u r talking about u fight us by comment abad comment on our book and messenger all what iam going to say is that u have to respect our religion and what we think about islam we did not asked u for bieng muslim . it is ur own desigion and our islam ordered us not to be hard with the people the islam is aletter if u want to listen to it the doors are opened and if u don’t want it’s up to u it is not aN obligation

Hi i was just reading all the comments made on the website and i have say i don’t understand why everyone is so upset, in my opinion it was just a harmless joke. people make jokes about all kinds of religious cultures and it seems that it’s ok except if it is muslim. now i understand being afended but why is everyone taking it so personal. your faith is your faith and weither people take the piss out of it or not, it is still your faith and no silly cartoon drawing can change that. so i say you should just not worry about things that don’t need you to worry about. and do what you your faith tell’s you to do pray and be merry and don’t worry about silly little cartoon’s.

I agree with “outsider”…
But I’d like to add a last note.
We all agree that the cartoon’s point wasn’t only drawing a prophet that should never been drawn, but also showing him as a terrorist, which hides a bomb under the muslim hat, which indirectly might suggest that anyone wearing such a hat could hide a bomb beneath it.
We also agree that this is an insult, like any other insult by stereotyping and targeting a group’s symbol (for example prophet mohamed).
We also agree that the person who drew this cartoon is an individual (only one person) that does not represent a whole country. By demanding an appology from this country, would not be correct. Demanding an appology from the Individual, would be.
But here comes the part that changes the vies and perspectives of the above mentioned.
IF the OFFENSE was insulting them by drawing a cartoon that suggested that muslim people are VIOLENT and terrorists, there should have been a pacific protest from the muslim side. But there were individuals, groups of muslims, burning flags, and embassies, demanding that the whole country appologize for tha actions of the individual PLUS some even offered a lot of money for the cartoonist’s head!
Now in my oppinion, protesting against anything, has to be pacific and especially when there is an argument about muslims being violent.
This changes everything. We understand that it wasn’t ALL of the muslims that burned down flags and wanted to see blood on the streets, but also it wasn’t a whole country that drew that cartoon. And now that a few individuals have prooven to be violent and acting in a terrorifying way to foreign people, it seems that the cartoon is not an entire lie, or insult.. it reflects exactly THAT part of muslims (even if it’s a minority).
So looking at all the facts and happenings, I suggest there is no reason for a country to appologize and also for no cartoonist IF the protesting side of the muslims aren’t aware of WHAT really created this cartoon.
It wasn’t the hand of the artist. It was the behaviour that we all saw on television of muslims burning flags and threatening to kill people, that suggests that that’s how people solve problems in their country: with violence and terrorism.
I will repeat that my statments have not the intention to insult anybody or make stereotypes because, as I explained before, you cannot blame somebody for something that he is not responsible for and therefor I mus give my last word the idea of a splitted ending.
The ending is that IF the muslim part had not reacted like that, OR had at least understood that they also have insulting individuals in their country, I think that the cartoonist and others would have understood more the protests and MAYBE they would have appologyzed by realy understanding the problem, BUT instead there was never a chance to understand the other side, because the conter was so violent and terroristic, that the cartoonist had to hide for his life, and the whole country got into shock fireing cartoonists that could provoce bombings in their offices…
I guess there is nothing we can do but hope that everybody stays on their side of the road until a miracle happens, because I see no progress untill muslims start teaching their fellow countrymen how to behave and aknowledge and accept other religions, opinions and freedoms they dont have.
